About Me

Today, one of my fellow bloggers asked if I had an About Me page. I sifted through my posts and didn’t find where I had a separate page dedicated to me, myself and me.

If I had one, it has vanished or perhaps I never created one. Cobwebs in the attic?

So, does that mean I have lost me?  Oh my, where oh where can I be?  I’ll look around and see if I can find myself.  This may take awhile so bear with me.

I asked our cat, Amanda, and she thought I was out on the back porch, sipping coffee.  My husband thought so, as well, and lo and behold, that’s where they found me!  Yep, the three of us can be pretty ditsy, know what I mean?

Well, now that I am here or there, or wherever, I can ponder this About Me page.

So, here’s a little about me!  Try to handle all of the excitement you are about to experience and enjoy the popcorn.

I retired 2 1/2 years ago, which I spent 40+ years in the corporate world.  I was in commercial insurance, in one form or another, for my entire career.  There were a couple of exceptions when I worked a few side jobs.  One of my side jobs was modeling, which I was involved in for approximately 10 years. I lived in Orlando, FL at the time Disney World was being built, which produced numerous jobs in the modeling and entertainment fields.  The other gig was a short-lived job as a cocktail waitress. No, I did not spill drinks on anyone!  But I was working 2 jobs and the long hours made for a very long and tiring day.My Pix

Now, that I am retired, my hubby and I can enjoy traveling, which there are a few posts related to places we have visited.  When we’re not traveling, I entertain myself with blogging on WordPress and publishing on LinkedIn and beBee.com.

Also, my hubby and I love to play computer games, hang out in antique stores, spend time with friends at the local pub, and sit on the back porch while drinking our coffee. Which, by the way, I love coffee, thus the reason for the name of my site (BrewNSpew). I relate just about everything to coffee. See, you can’t say that I didn’t warn you about the excitement. Would you like a cuppa coffee?

We recently sold our house in Florida, which was occupied by renters for the three years we lived in GA. I was relocated to Atlanta by my employer and we liked GA so much, we became permanent residents.

Now that we don’t have to trek back and forth to FL, there is more time for our travels to Blue Ridge, Georgia – our favorite place to visit.  This quaint little mountain town is about an hour away and a pleasant drive.  We would love to own a cabin there, rather than stay in a hotel and hopefully, this will happen in the near future.  With that said, the hotel we frequent is very cozy and comfortable, and we enjoy staying there.

Methinks it’s time to wrap this up and I appreciate you visiting. And about me – well, I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

Hi Eugenia, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit and follow me and the storyhounds. 🙂 I’m with you on the coffee – what writer can live without it? It’s the one thing I refuse to give up.
    Loving the chocolate wallpaper!

Cat’s are very knowledgeable, they appear to be minding their own business but they know exactly what’s going on 😉
I love that quote too and try to live by it.
Glad you’re getting time to travel – my husband when asked how he’s enjoying retirement usually quips that he’s so busy he doesn’t know how he ever had time to work! 😄

That is a good sign that your husband is that busy. I feel the same way. I like to be busy and not sit around being idle and bored.

My dad was made redundant at 59 and was lost without work. Within a year he died suddenly. My husband & I knew we needed to have a plan when he retired early and it’s worked well.

That was a fun read, Eugenia. Blue Ridge in Georgia sounds and looks like my kinda heaven on earth. Is heaven that pretty, I wonder… Also, Amanda has personality by the looks of it. x

Not ‘drivel’ at all. I’m so glad you found ‘you’! … It’s nice to have a little more information…. and by the way, I would never even consider being any kind of a waitress because I would spill most of what I served … I am amazed at how well some handle doing it…. Diane

I don’t know why but I just saw your comment. Must be the computer gremlins are working overtime. 😉 I didn’t last too long as a waitress. It wasn’t my thing and I am surprised I didn’t drop or spill a tray of food or drinks.

Searching for your About Me page adds a whole new meaning to “trying to find yourself.” lol I’ve done the same thing (created pages then forgot all about them.) Love the Maya quote. So true!

I’ve changed themes several times and discover pages and links I forgot about. Yes. Maya is my favorite for quotes. Thank you for commenting.

I’m glad you added an About Me page. I went looking for it. I’m even gladder that your cat and husband found you on the back porch with coffee. Sounds perfect.

Thank you for reading and commenting. I have lost the About Me page a few times. I change themes frequently, which sometimes it doesn’t work out too well. I’m surprised my blogs haven’t imploded into puddles of spilled ink.

Beautiful blog layout, Eugenia. I really like this About section with your bio. For a retired person your spirit looks much younger than many people in their twenties, thirties…. I see this spirit of yours reflected in the blog, so dynamic and fresh.Good job and thank you so much for the follow!
