Something is Missing?

“Unhappiness is caused by believing that something
is missing that we need to be happy.”
Gina Lake

The snow has stopped and not one iota left on the ground. My dreams of building a snowman will not come true. But, that’s okay because it is very cold, and it’s best I stay inside, sip coffee and get busy with my post.  I enjoy Wednesdays because of the weekly event at patriciasplace.  Not that I always have to be inspired to post, however, she provides such interesting quotes to write about, which I am addressing this quote authored by Gina Lake.

I read this quote several times and I said to myself “There is a lot of emotion in this quote.” It seems to speak of sadness and emptiness, which prompted me to write a poetic piece about a relationship gone awry.  However, there is a spoiler alert – it has a good ending. But with who?

There will be no crying

as long as I have your kiss

If we keep trying

there will always be bliss

Nothing was missing

while we were kissing

But, when you didn’t call

that told it all

Why were you gone

when they played our song?

Sadness is because you believe

you have a need

to find what is missing?

Will I forever be sad

Will you forever be bad

Did you take me for a ride

because of your pride?

You will no longer be missed

I will no longer be blue

Nothing was missing

while we were kissing

and I said, “I do”

My poem was inspired by patriciasplace a Wednesday weekly event.

Cheers! ☕
