OMG! Tuesday Chatter is 30!

Yeah! Tuesday Chatter has grown up. Only a couple of nips and tucks, mind you. Well, maybe more than a couple. Theme changes, avatar changes, name changes, eliminating the red cup. etc. I think of it as changing clothes. If you don’t like what you are wearing it’s time to try something new.

The idea of Tuesday Chatter is for fellow bloggers to share a link to what suits their fancy. This is a way to get to know one another and increase your exposure. With that said, it appeared the red cup link was confusing and not functioning properly. Most likely the problem was the fault of the creator of the idea – me, myself, and I. So the red cup is history and already I am seeing an increase in sharing of links, which I appreciate.

Oh, and another BTW, I haven’t forgotten about the mysterious mark on our carpet. Remember, I shared a photo of it a while back. It’s downright spooky and our cat Amanda is beside herself with curiosity. She probably knows what it is and not telling us. She is such diva strutting around and showing off her fluffy tail. It’s obvious she is very pleased with herself.

Moving on to my first featured blogger- Following is an excerpt from Emma’s About Me. I hope you will take some time to visit Emma’s lovely blog and show your support.

I’m Emma Woods, author of the Beastly Series. I live in Ohio with my dear husband, daughter, and dogs. I’ve always loved reading and have explored writing since I was young. My latest series, The Beastly Series, debuted its first book, Beasts and Savages on October 1, 2015. Savage Revolution, the second in The Beastly Series, is slated to be out in June 2016.

And, featuring another talented blogger  Lisa’s blog is so full of life and loads of fun. You will be pleased I informed you about this one.

I’m Lisa, married to “long-suffering husband” Jeff (his words not mine):) We have 4 children, plus about another 14 that regularly inhabit our household, usually when the football or rugby is on – or when I`ve made cakes 🙂  We share the household with our Jack Russell, Peppa and Jeff`s snooty Siamese cat, Kiera, plus a tank load of, well fish

Oh, let me tell you THERE WAS SOME PARTYING this past weekend. There was Jacqui’s bash which was fabulous. Of course, I would expect nothing less than perfection from the hostess with the mostess.

And the beBee party -when I left last night, the party was still going strong!  I heard this is a continuous party and will be ongoing for the entire summer. Yeah!

How about some tidbits of useful chatter! Today is Water a Flower Day! How dismal it would be without flowers sharing their glorious colors and fragrant blossoms. Not to mention their medicinal or sometimes, lethal properties. And the joke of the day “what kind of socks does a gardener wear?”  garden hose.  Ha ha ha ha!!  This is the kind of joke you can tell your grandchildren.

Ah, the warmth of the sun

A beckoning call for summer fun

The welcoming lake, the sparkling pool

It’s what keeps you coolPicMonkey Sample

The flowing river, the roaring sea

It’s where you want to be

The sky so blue

with nary a cloud

Summer songs are playing

Not too soft yet not too loud

From sunrise to sunset

I live for seasonal progressions

To create summer reflections

On life’s expressions

Tuesday Chatter 29

Wasn’t it just yesterday

We were waiting for May

It’s dwindling you know

with not much left to show

Chirping birds and buzzing bees

impatiently await summer’s warm breeze

They have claimed their haven among the trees

no longer naked and bereft of their leaves

Let’s not despair that May will be gone

soon we can delight in summer’s sweet song

A succession of melodies sets the tune

As we warmly welcome the month of June

Hi, everyone! I don’t mean to jump the gun but May is soon to be history. And with the end of May drawing near, there’s some partying going on. First, we have our lovely Jacqueline Obyikocha hosting her monthly blog bash Saturday/Sunday – May 28th and 29th. Moving on to some cuteness, what do turtles use to communicate? A shellphone!  Aw, c’mon it’s a cute joke. Besides, today is Turtle Day, May 23, 2016. Why not take a turtle to lunch or give one a hug.  Our turtles deserve our protecting them and helping them thrive.

Good afternoon! I am thrilled you dropped by for coffee. I am brewing a fresh pot of hazelnut coffee for us. Don’t you just love the aroma? I hope you find the flavor is to your liking. If not, I have other options.

It’s a lovely afternoon with summery breezes and scents of flowers and budding trees. Perfect for chatting while sitting on the back porch, don’t you agree?

I’m so glad you’re here. It has been awhile and I think of you often. Hey mom, do you remember?

When I was a child, I was pretty mild and not too wild. I was your little girl with a head full of curls. My dresses were frilly, I never felt silly.  Shoes galore, I always wanted more. We dressed to the nines, you and me. Our sense of style was for all to see. Oh yes mom, we had a passion for fashion!

When I was a teen, I was pretty mild and not too wild. I was your best friend and you were mine. We figured life out, time after time. I had to be cool and you understood. Much more than any mother could. We dressed to the nines, you and me. Our sense of style was our identity. Oh yes mom, fashion became our passion!

When I was a young woman, I was pretty mild and not too wild. If I needed comfort, you were always there. Such a loving mother, I knew you cared. When you were sad, I felt bad. If you were blue, I was there for you. Yes, we dressed as ladies because we should and because we could. Back in the day, that was the way.

When I was twenty-three, you were gone. I felt the world had done me wrong. Why an end to your melody?  It wasn’t time to end your song. Your image still lingers in my memory. Yes, our passion for fashion was meant to be. And mom I must say, you look lovely today.  I miss you so, in every way.

If we were having coffee, this is the way it would be. A memorable chat, just you and me.

Cheers! 🍵 ☕️

Tuesday Chatter – Why Red?

Today, I thought I would chat about my favorite color … RED!

Why the color red, you ask … well, I have many reasons why  … but here’s a few for you

First, it’s one of the colors of my favorite football team’s logo.

Second, it’s the color of Jolly Ole Saint Nick’s suit … And yes, I still believe for the sake of my kindergarten.  Besides, who doesn’t love gifts from Santa.

Third, it’s part of the title of one favorite fairy tales … Little Red Riding Hood! The poor wolf didn’t stand a chance when he tried to match wits with Red … geesh, what was he thinking???

Fourth, it’s the color of a vehicle that makes one of the coolest sounds every. Yep, a fire truck!  And who didn’t wanna be a fire fighter when they were little! I sure did but it’s not the career of choice…

I have a lot of new useless and useful information to share. I honestly don’t know where to begin. I feel the need to brew another a pot of coffee as I can use a hefty jolt of pizzazz.  Sprinkling a tad of cocoa on top will add even more of a kick. Hmmm, I love the combination of coffee and chocolate – delectable!

Let’s begin with the doves. A couple of Tuesday Chatters ago, I shared my post about the nesting doves in a hanging plant on our back porch. Mom and pop dove were blessed with two babies, which my post included a photo of the babies soon after they were born.

Well, the lovey-dovey parents and the 2 little ones have taken over our back porch. It’s quite a treat to watch them learn to fly and grow up right before our eyes. HOWEVER, they have taken over our table by using it as a touch and go landing strip; and our chairs are used as a playground. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and even happy hour belong to the doves. Pretty soon there will be family gatherings and parties! It is obvious they feel right at home.

Oops, did I say that!? Silly me, because now there are doves nesting in another one of our hanging plants!! I guess the word is out that the Hoffman porch is the “in” place to breed and raise your family.  Perhaps, because it has all of the necessary amenities and it is a gated community. My concerns are how long will this last!?

So enough about the doves. as I want to move on to my first featured blogger. I met several new bloggers while taking the WordPress Fundamentals course, which was well worth my time. Plus, I find there is a lot of talent yet to be discovered in our blogging world.

Let’s start with tonyburgess1969. He hails from Chattanooga and calls himself “T-Bird”. He has a nice easy going blog, which has a crisp and organized feel to it. His posts are well written and hold your interest. He has mastered The Twenty Sixteen theme, which is very flattering to his blog. Stop in say hello to T-Bird.

In fact, I found his theme so fascinating that I decided to take the plunge by changing my theme. The features included in the Twenty Sixteen theme enable me to easily add to, change and improve the appearance of my blog. Another change I implemented is using my middle name, Eugenia, as my username. I feel this adds a more personal touch.  Amanpan will remain the name of my domain, for the time being. I love changes because I can make little tweaks, here and there, refresh and add new life to my blog. is still my main squeeze for social networking. It’s truly refreshing on a personal level and a professional level. I am steadily involved in producing honey, which is considered publishing on beBee. Their theme is bees and buzzes which produce inspiring and fun ideas for bloggers, writers, and publishers. It is endless entertainment and very enjoyable. There is now a direct link on my blog to my beBee profile. It is under the heading beBee Affinity on the left side. Check it out!

And on to my next featured blogger spartaninbadgerland. Chris has a very personable style of writing. His ramblings, as he references his posts, are down to earth and well written. Chris’s blog is fairly new so pay him a visit and show your support.

I recently added more to my plate regarding blogging. I am now a Millionaires Digest Staff Member contributing to I have written my first post, which is getting its fair amount of attention. I am enjoying this immensely because now I have even more reason to write.  Here’s the link to my post.

There are several bloggers, including myself, that enjoy promoting our fellow bloggers and each other. Challenges and events are numerous offering interviews, guest posts, coffee chats, blogging parties, and much more; some of which are on a recurring daily, weekly and monthly basis. An example is my own Tuesday Chatter, a recurring weekly event.

In addition, WordPress offers countless ways to inspire bloggers to write, share and support each other. We all should take advantage of these offers because they can significantly increase our exposure. Plus, look at the great people we meet!

Can you believe summer is already approaching? What are your plans? Perhaps, a short getaway or a long relaxing vacation is in the works? As for me, my husband and I are planning a road trip to celebrate my birthday in June. I find it very exciting to plan trips, whether long or short. There is so much yet to discover and enjoy.

Tuesday Chatter 27

Hello everyone and wishing a belated Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, even those that care for the four-legged kind.  My gem of a husband surprised me with roses, which made my Mother’s Day quite a treat. I am one of those mothers that care for a cat that believes she’s a human. She is such a drama queen and she rules!

In case you didn’t see my previous post, I am taking a WordPress course to become better familiarized with the fundamentals. I have already learned a few tips that I wasn’t aware of. It just goes to show you that we can learn something new every day.

I have also met new bloggers, some just starting out, and others that have been around awhile. Meeting new bloggers is the best part of blogging, IMHO.

So today is Lost Sock Memorial Day. Don’t you just love these tidbits of “stuff”? I don’t where these originate from but these little bits of news items make my day. Plus they are good topics for useful and useless chatter. Oh, and here is the joke that is the ha ha part of Lost Sock Memorial Day: “What did the sock say when it found a hole in its toe?  Darn it! 😀

Yesterday, being Mother’s Day, was a laid back day for us. I brewed a pot of hazelnut coffee and enjoyed it throughout the morning. The coffee gave me enough pizzazz to play computer games, backup my computers and socialize on LinkedIn and beBee.  Also, I took the time to read blogs from The Reader in WordPress.  Such a day! Right?

While I was in The Reader, I found an interesting blog that I am sharing with you: millionairesdigest.  This is a busy and exciting blog and one that takes awhile to absorb. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Another new discovery is a blogger I met in the WordPress course: newswiretalk  Aki’s blog is fairly new, well organized and lovely. Drop in and show your support.

And I can’t resist this one! I just love this blog. Cat pics and well written interesting posts. Also, a very colorful and organized site. Check out josie2shoes.

BTW, here’s a mystery to solve. What is this???  Maybe Big Foot has been in our apartment?  Let me know what you think it is.

I Look in the Mirror

“So much has been said and sung of beautiful young girls,
why don’t somebody wake up to the beauty of old women?”
Harriet Beecher Stowe

Harriet Beecher Stowe, 1811 to 1896, also authored Uncle Tom’s Cabin.  A lovely quote that seems to be from another era than when it was written.

I look in the mirror and what do I see? Young and beautiful, yes that’s me. Lovely words spoken, beautiful songs sung. about me.

I look in the mirror and what do I see? Old and beautiful, yes that’s me. Lovely words said, beautiful songs sung, about me…

But where are the words? Where are the songs, where can they be? Can’t you see, I am still me?

Wake up you fools, you critical old fools. Look in my mirror and what do you see? Young or old, I’m beautiful you see. Lovely words spoken, beautiful songs sung, about me. Yes, about me! Yes, that’s me, you’ll see.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, please heed my beckoning call. Old and beautiful, yes that’s me. But, am I still the fairest of them all?
