Can We Change Everything We See?

“Not everything that is faced can be changed,
but nothing can be changed until faced.”
James Baldwin

We can’t change the color of the sky

Don’t know why

We can’t change the color of the sun

Don’t know why

We can’t change the color of the moon

Don’t know why

We can’t change everything we see

Don’t know why

But it’s how we perceive

what we see, and

It’s what we perceive

how we see?

If we believe what we perceive

and perceive what we believe, then

Can we change everything we see?

    We change ourselves first
    And try to perceive
If we can see the change
But if we are changed already
    Then can we perceive
    The changed reality
    Now my head is turning
    Did I perceive
    Or did I change
    Can I now
    Go back to
    The old me?

First of all, I love your theme and that cup of coffee 🙂 At least, I perceive it as a cup of coffee and I want to believe 🙂 I also love this poem! While we may not always be able to change what we perceive, I believe that we can change how we perceive something. It all depends, of course, on what we perceive and whether we believe 🙂

Thank you. Yes, I love coffee so I tie it into my blog and many of my posts. I love your theme as well. Very creative and colorful.

Thank you. I love the background color. It reminds me of a very creamy cup of coffee. Your background color also reminds me of coffee 🙂 I guess you could say that I have coffee on the brain 🙂 When I dropped by and saw the cup, it was love at first sight 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words. I love your observations because it shows my theme is reflective of my ideas. I always have coffee on the brain, as well.

I loved your poem and found the information on June birthdays fascinating. I never knew there were three birthstones in the month of June. If I don’t talk to you again Happy Birthday!! ❤

Thank you for the birthday wishes and I am glad you enjoyed the poem. I did not know about the moonstone. Such a beautiful stone.
