“There is no fun in doing nothing when you have nothing to do.”
Jerome K  Jerome

 Is something doing nothing

Is nothing doing something

After much musing

I find this confusing

Much like a riddle

Oh, fiddle diddle

I’m calling it day

Maybe I’ll hit the hay

or go out and play

Please give me a clue

cuz I’m missing the cue

I need something to do

to have nothing to do

Tuesday Chatter 37

283402-autumn-heart

If we were having coffee, I find there is nothing more thought-provoking than useful and useless chatter. This is one of those chats. A little of this and a little of that. Join in the fun and link your chat to Tuesday Chatter

Today is All or Nothing Day! I just love this trivia. Little tidbits of information that’s food for thought, fun and amusing.

The Romans understood it so well they had a saying: “Carpe Diem” or seize the day. All Or Nothing Day takes that spirit and urges people to break through their barriers, ignore the fears that hold them back, and make that big commitment to a better life. Seize the day; the rest of your life won’t wait forever.

Many Moons Ago

Do you remember your high school days? I used to have such fun in school. The times were simpler then and there were not the concerns that I see today. Across the street from my high school was a cool drug store with a long counter where we would pig out on milkshakes and fries. This was our hangout where the “in crowd” would hang out after school. Of course, there was a jukebox loaded with all of the most recent hits! We would sing and chair dance cuz there wasn’t any space to get up and dance.

You have to be older to remember some of these products, which were sold in the drug stores in the 1960s: Brylcreem, English Leathers, Old Spice, Aqua Velva, Brut and Old Stetson, just to name a few. English Leather, a men’s cologne, was my favorite. I loved that scent and any man that wore English Leather caught my attention.

Below is an excerpt from an article about my favorite social media site, beBee.com. One of the best features of beBee is that the user (you and I) can tailor our feed to our interests. Bravo beBee! beBee with hat1

beBee is an affinity-based social network. This means that, on it, you only see content and information that is relevant to you and that you have interest in. If, in example, you’re only interested in science and fashion, that is what you’ll see. This is also going to help you connect with people that share your interests.

What is the difference between discrete and discreet?

Yep, they sound alike

Fractals in Chaos

184795-Sunburst-Mirror

“Striving for excellence motivates you,
striving for perfection demoralizes you.”-Harriet Braiker

Excelling is compelling

Your alter ego

you’re selling?

More than twice

more than thrice?

Is it tuned to perfection?

A battle of fractals ensues

changes too fast to choose

Corruption and interruption

tend to amuse but confuse

Fractals in chaos = demoralization?

Fractals in motion = Perfection?

perhaps to be flawless is lawless

Fractals definition: A fractal is a never-ending pattern. Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales.

Tuesday Chatter 36

If we were having coffee, I find there is nothing more thought-provoking than useful and useless chatter. This is one of those chats.  Sit back and let’s muse the news.

Many Moons Ago

My husband and I took Sally Sue out for a spin yesterday. Man, this brought back memories of some groovy times. Sally Sue is not quiet nor is she lady like. She is boisterous, loud and flashy; and she can lay rubber with the best of them. She is as attention getting today as she was in the past

cars

I remember when we would drive a few miles out of town to show off our bookin cars. The poop spread quickly there was a drag race comin down. We got our kicks and then split the scene. Soon we were back to tooling around and cruising through our favorite Steak N Shake. Yep, we were the ultimate of cool wearing our shades and looking tuff, hanging loose with our arm hanging out the window. Hey Sally Sue, peel out and show your stuff! To be continued…

Ah, the past

Why couldn’t it last

We were jazzed

We were keyed

We had a yen for speed

We weren’t fools

We had fun in school

We were the ultimate of cool

Man, life was a gas

Yes, a blast from the past

And what’s going on July 18th, 2016? It’s Get Out of the Doghouse Day! Have you been naughty? Well, think of this day as “get out of jail free card”. Use it to make amends and make apologies. Hey, I asked my dog what’s that thing on top of his dog house? And he said “Roof Roof”.*  Hahahaha!

Going with the flow and Tuesday Chatter’s olio or hodgepodge theme, meaning a mixture of stuff; so let’s add to  What is going on with the weather?! Is it extremely hot where you live? Here in Georgia, we’re expecting temps at 100 and in parts of the central US, temps are expected to reach 110! I don’t know if this is global warming or rumors swarming but it is undoubtedly hot. Stay cool if you can and drink plenty of water.

Do I or Don’t I?

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”-Mary Schmich

Interesting quote, I must say

Let’s add a little twist

Let’s add a little twirl

Let’s give it whirl

I don’t have an inkling of what to say

Yeah, I’m calling it a day

What scares me is what I don’t do every day

There’s a limit to how many steps you’ll be able to take today. Make sure they’re all in the right direction. – Jeff Sheehan

As the Honey Drizzles

g+-01

Just too irresistible to not include this trivia since it relates to bees. My favorite beBee.com is all about bees and hives, as that is their theme. “Don’t Step On a Bee Day” (Sunday, July 10th) is a worthy reminder of the importance of the common bee. It’s vital that we take care to maintain bee populations, pollination, and honey production. This also is applicable within beBee for the same reasons.  The steps we take today will affect our future, let’s be sure they are in the right direction and be kind to one another along the way.

Many Moons Ago

Yes, cars played a big part during my teenage years, especially when I was in high school.  We would spend hours cleaning and waxing our cars just to look cool as we cruised through the most popular streets, and in and out of the most popular places in town. Hey! Look at me now! Our radio was set to our favorite station and of course, loud enough for all to hear. Not too loud though because we didn’t want to muffle the purring of a finely tuned engine. Sally Sue was a hot number then, all dressed in red…to be continued.

Have you ever said to yourself, stop making excuses why you can’t – because you know damn well that you can?

And, what about today, July 11, 2016?

Today is International Town Criers Day In olden times, when few people were literate, and there was little access to printed media, town criers were a central part of urban living. Town criers were responsible for keeping the populace up to date with the latest news and events, and for disseminating news from the ruling classes to the wider populace.*

Can you imagine if town criers were our only source of news today!? I believe the job of town crier would be a secure position yet challenging. They would be busy, don’t you agree?  And the joke of the day: “I’ve just been organizing my local village fete. Booking that town crier was a good shout.”
