Oh, Fiddle Diddle

“There is no fun in doing nothing when you have nothing to do.”
Jerome K  Jerome

 Is something doing nothing

Is nothing doing something

After much musing

I find this confusing

Much like a riddle

Oh, fiddle diddle

I’m calling it day

Maybe I’ll hit the hay

or go out and play

Please give me a clue

cuz I’m missing the cue

I need something to do

to have nothing to do

What a fun post and with a great picture of nothing! You always have something to say that either makes me scratch my head and wonder or smile. Thanks for sharing with In Other Words.

Thank you Patricia. It took a while for me to gather my thoughts on this one. Thank you for the challenge.

You make my mind go hey diddle, diddle and I search for the cat with a fiddle 🙂

Good one Jacqui. Cat with a fiddle entered my mind when I wrote the poem. Thank you for commenting.

Take a walk in the park
Or a ride on a wave
    Go to the mall
    Just do something brave…
    Got nothing to do
    so here is my thought
    Go find a balloon
    Fly it somewhere north…
    For you my friend
    An afternoon cuppa will do
    Then write down some words
For us on ‘brew and spew’…

Hahaha, now I did pull that out of my hat just for you my friend!

Now, that just made my day. We write some great poetry together. Like I have said before, we walk to the same beat. Thank you for being you! 💐

Yes you do make me smile
and you’ve given me a plan
Wait till you see what I’m up to again
        It rhymes with a bee
        you may want to flee
        I do hope you know
You are reaping the lovely words you sow!

I hadn’t heard fiddle diddle in years…which reminded me of fiddle sticks.

I think you hit the nail on the head with your commentary on this one! Is there really a state of “having nothing to do”, what then is nothing? Very puzzling indeed 🙂

    • 08/02/2016 at 11:11 pm

It is puzzling and I believe there is always something to do even if it seems like nothing. Thank you for commenting.

I look forward to your comment 😉
