Enduring the Swarm

“At the end of the day, we can endure
much more than we think we can.”-Frida Kahlo

The calm before the storm

Swelling burdens begin to swarm

Life’s lease preparing to expire?

Thrusting moments forward to retire?

The end is just around the bend

Only shards of time left to spend

There’s one thing I know for sure

We rejoice our efforts if we can endure

Does the Pantone Color Forecast for 2016 help or confuse you in planning your wardrobe for 2016?

PANTONE SPRING 2016Pantone Colors for the Year 2016

rose serenity

Volumes will be written on the significance and psychology of color, and how will these colors help in expressing yourself, or building your mood for the day. What you really need to know is

  • What to buy ?
  • What to discard ?
  • Which colors from your existing wardrobe continue to be in fashion ?

And the buying behaviour is exactly what the trend and fashion forecasters are trying to manipulate. They cannot ask all the people about their preferences, and maintain inventories of all colors to suit all tastes. Forecasting is based on market research (demographics, taste, lifestyles) and fashion cycles of the past. Trends do get repeated in a couple of years. It creates trends, sets expectations for the season and influences buying behaviour…

Tuesday Chatter 42

I find there is nothing more pleasing than useful and useless chatter while sipping on a  cup of coffee so strong you can stand a spoon up in it. This is one of those chats.

Many Moons Ago

Sally Sue, I was having a morning chat about who would be next to join Barbie, Marilyn, and the Beach Boys, while we’re cruising. I was checking email on my phone and I said to myself “I can’t imagine life without my cell phone or my laptop.” Do you remember telephone booths? I don’t know where you live but they are almost non-existent in the U.S. Think about it, where would Clark Kent change his clothes? What a dilemma! So we piled Clark in with the rest and off we went in our machine, Sally Sue!  Hopefully, we can get Clark to his home in Metropolis where he can don the big “S” and his cape. Wowser, won’t we look cool with Super Man riding shotgun in Sally Sue. To be continued…

Can you believe we’re almost at the end of August? Maybe the heat will go away as well because I am ready for some cooler weather – what about you?

August 29th is More Herbs and Less Salt Day. This day encourages us to eat a healthy, balanced diet.  It doesn’t take much room or effort to grow a variety of fresh herbs.

More Herbs, Less Salt Day encourages you to take a simple step to re-align this balance, through the use of herbs in home-cooked dishes in place of salt. It doesn’t take much room or effort to grow a variety of fresh herbs, and a little rosemary, thyme, mint or other herbs can do just as much to enrich a dish as a heavy dose of salt.

My Friend, It’s Time to Let Go

Cory Galbraith

I want to liberate myself.

I want to give meaning to my life, to be a positive influence, “live” rather than “exist” and make a difference.

It is time to let go of the world that was. False prophets, false people, false direction. Mindless routines. Loveless direction.

Let go of things. Life is not about things. As we grow older, we replace things with people. Often, we do so when it is too late. Focus on the relationships in your life. Look at the people around you. Tell them how much you appreciate them.

Let go of excessive entertainment. To be entertained 24/7 is to pave a road made of poverty and emptiness. Replace it with learning, growing, experimenting, trying new things and meeting new people.

Let go of seeing life as a burden. Life is an adventure. Your purpose is to go out and live, to discover and to…

Tuesday Chatter 41

I find there is nothing more pleasing than useful and useless chatter while sipping a nice hot cup of coffee. This is one of those chats.

Tuesday Chatter is a weekly event, where the aroma of coffee drifts around the room spurring on thought-provoking chatter. If you are not a fan of coffee, BYOB or whatever suits your fancy and join in the fun. Tuesday Chatter.

Many Moons Ago

Do you remember drive-in movies? Well, Sally Sue and I were sitting outside under a large shade tree chatting about the days of yore and she started rambling about her fondness for drive-in movies.  She was young and beautiful then, and even now she hasn’t aged a day. We agreed that there was something magical about drive-in movies. Perhaps, the aroma of popcorn and hot dogs waking up our taste buds, as we readied ourselves for the movie.

Drive-in movies were great low-budget entertainment for families and dates. It wasn’t unusual to see families spread out a blanket and enjoy sitting under a sapphire sky while enjoying the moon and the stars. Of course, there were also a lot of cars with steamy windows taking advantage of what we use to refer to as the “passion pit” I’ll let you figure that one out.

Yes, we used to sneak our friends in using the trunk as their temporary ride. To this day, I don’t know how we survived some of the “stuff” that we did, however, it seems somewhat innocent now. Sally Sue and I love these memories and how unfortunate drive-in movies are pretty much a thing of the past…to be continued.

Some good news for beBee newbees! I have a great description of what beBee is all about, provided by the CEO, Javier beBee. Also, a link that leads you to information that is worthy of your time to read.  Here is the link and below is the excerpt from Javier. http://www.inc.com/neil-c-hughes/how-this-new-professional-social-network-attracted-10-million-in-its-first-year.html

“For those who are asking me what is beBee :),…… beBee is about professional networking through personal interests and hobbies. Take golfers, for example. It is the same concept but applied to all professions and personal interests or hobbies. Personal interests generate much more professional engagement and better business opportunities.”-Javier Camera Rica, CEO (Javier beBee)

Do you spend a lot of time reading blogs on WordPress?  Do you follow many of them or just a few, or perhaps none at all?  I follow many, IMO, and I need more than 24/7 to keep up with them. But, next to beBee, I find reading blogs addicting. There are so many excellent writers and artists and photographers – it’s amazing. This is one of my reasons for featuring 1 or 2 bloggers every week – to share their talent with you.

With that said, I am introducing MakingTimeForMe

This is a fabulous blog, full of great stories and snippets. It’s also well organized and very colorful. Below is the excerpt:

My name is Stephanie and I am 35 years old.  I am a Wife and Mother of both biological and step children who works full time for a non profit as a Instructor.   I love writing, reading,  hanging with my kids,  making time for myself and am always up to try a craft beer!

This blog is a way for me to share my story, my therapy and part of my healing.

It’s not just me, myself and I

It’s you, yourself and you

It’s all about us

so what’s the fuss

Magnificent is our world

Unleashed in its twirl

Let’s assign its deflection

In a purposeful direction

Perhaps, it’s a little late in the month for this, but better late than never. The month of August is Happiness Happens month. If we spread happiness throughout our world, hopefully, it will become contagious and add to defining our purpose. Exercising control over ourselves is the first step in making the world a better place.

I’m Eugenia and it’s time to put a wrap on this chat. So long from this week’s Tuesday Chatter and have a great week!

Our World to Keep?

“Each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world.”
Marianne Williamson

As we struggle with complex inner feelings

Clouds in our heads can send us reeling

It’s up to us to learn as we grow

To keeps our thoughts well in tow

The world is our habitat to eat and sleep

The world is our cradle to laugh and weep

We must play our role in this thing called life

To keep peace on earth and avoid all strife

From sunrise to sunset it’s our world to keep

If we reap what we sow and sow what we reap

Lordy Lordy, Look Who’s 40!

If we were having coffee, I find there is nothing more thought-provoking than useful and useless chatter. This is one of those chats.  So, sit back and relax or join in if you want to. 😉

I can’t believe it myself. This is my 40th Tuesday Chatter. And yes, she just recently had another facelift. Several themes and many tweaks later, Tuesday Chatter is all aglow with her new look. My goal for Tuesday Chatter is to be warm and whimsical, and a place where we all can have fun.

I don’t know if you have been following Many Moons Ago, but it is a series about yesteryear starting with the ’60s era and moving forward. The star of the series is a red 1964 Impala SS named Sally Sue. She is always so full of herself and very much a socialite.

Lately, Sally Sue has been cruising main street USA with the likes of Barbie and Marilyn Monroe, just to give you an idea of who she likes to hang out with. You know there was some great music in the ’60s and I think we should add a groovin band to the ride. Barbie and Marilyn are big fans of “The British Invasion”, but voted in the Beach Boys because they bring back lingering memories of warm summer days. Sally Sue and her group are donning their coolest threads and look super tough as they are tooling around. To be continued…mainbeachboys

Interviews and Beyond: Franci Eugenia Hoffman

We can learn a lot about a person from their past and their present, and if they will let us look beyond, we can find their hidden possibilities . This interview is about the way our imagination works. It is just a way of the storyteller, sharing another story. Each story is different, and yet they hold a treasure chest of  hope and possibilities !

I have asked Franci Eugenia Hoffman aka ‘Brew & Spew’ to embark on this challenge. This beautiful woman on your left looks like she is gazing deeply into your eyes, her thoughts hidden…at least for a short while! That smile says, “I see you” (hahaha)
For our readers, imagine we are having a cup of coffee, whatever your favorite brew, and your thoughts go somewhere else. That wonderland is where my thoughts went as I sat imagining conversations with some of my favorite bloggers. Today I…
