Tuesday Chatter 47

126280-1410596530_good-morning

If we were having coffee, I find there is nothing more pleasing than useful and useless chatter. This is one of those chats that deserves a steaming cuppa coffee, laced with cinnamon and pumpkin spice, and perhaps a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream. Hmmmm.

In my neck of the woods, a few more amber leaves have infiltrated the trees giving me the impression fall weather is nearing. I was taking a brisk walk about our complex and stopped by Sally Sue’s abode to chat for awhile. She was in good spirits and looking forward to getting out and around to enjoy the sights. Our town has taken on an autumn flair with seasonal street decorations.

202376-carved-pumpkins

And speaking of fall, Sally Sue and I discussed fall hats, which I am a huge fan of hats. I own several hats of all types and colors, which lends me to do some hat hunting for the oncoming season. I reminded Sally Sue that cars don’t wear hats unless you are in the business of public livery or you deliver pizza. She pouted and revved her engine and I had to laugh at the silliness of it all,  including my silly self. To be continued…

 Pointed hats, flying bats

and slinky black cats.chapeau-1293080_1280

Sure signs of what’s to come

some eerie moments on the run.

But there’s still time

to stoke our mind

Once, twice and even thrice

for pumpkins, spice

and everything nice.

For the ghouls and fools

you gotta waitcats2

The day’s not come

to seal your fate.

There’s still time in between

today’s tomorrows and Halloween

While I am thinking of black cats, what’s up with the superstition? Do you really think a black cat crossing your path is an evil omen?  From my POV, this is an antiquated belief from long ago and has no validity. A black cat crossing your path means it’s simply going from point A to point B.  Are you leery of black cats? Apparently, some people are since they are the least likely to become adopted in shelters. I think black cats are stunning and are getting a bad rap. They’re simply pawsome to me!!

Many Moons Ago

Well, this isn’t many moons ago – this is today! Yes, Sept. 19, 2016! The excerpt below is from today’s Roswell Patch, a local news site.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Drivers in Atlanta struggling to find gas or facing steep price hikes amid a shortage across six states in the Southeast are learning a temporary fix is on the way. A major pipeline serving most of the region was shut off last week due to a fuel leak, but the company in charge of the line says it will create a bypass to restore service as the leak is fixed.

Sally Sue and I were chatting over coffee this morning and we recall the 1970s energy crises. We realize this isn’t the same type of crises, however, it is annoying, to say the least.  My husband made the rounds yesterday trying to find gas before the beginning of the week push. He was able to fill up at a station nearby, however, at an accelerated price.d260549d-d6d1-36c9-90f8-0430d14dc673

Sally Sue is all in a tither because she has plans to cruise and show off, with none other than the one and only Sir Paul McCartney.  She doesn’t want to this gas “thing” to interfere. So, we plan to gather up Sir Paul and add him to Sally Sue’s in-crowd – Barbie, Marilyn Monroe, and the Beach Boys. We’re having some fun now! To be continued…

beBee is fast becoming a way of life and very enjoyable at that. I find myself quite busy with my online social life and keeping up with my own blog. Of course, I have a life outside of social media – yes, believe it or not, I do.

With that said, I had my first Ambassador online call last Friday and was very pleased. It’s so nice to hear the voices of those you communicate with day in and day out. beBee is implementing a lot of new features, which makes our online experience even more rewarding. Once I get comfortable with all of this new “stuff” and put it to use, I may have some more excitement to share.

You know, I never thought of September as an exciting month because the weather is iffy and it is an in-between month – summer is fading and fall is not yet here. But to my surprise, there are some notable things to know about September.

September 19th is Butterscotch Pudding Day. Somehow, this has a cozy feel to it. I assume we can indulge in Butterscotch Pudding, without feeling guilty?

Although nobody knows the exact origins of Butterscotch Pudding Day, records show that this dessert has been around since at least 1848. There are a number of variations available on the standard recipe and butterscotch pudding is extremely easy to make. If you have children, making butterscotch pudding is the perfect way to celebrate Butterscotch Pudding Day. Or why not surprise someone special by making this sweet treat just for them.

I may not be known as top notch

Some things in life, I’ve botched

I never learned to like scotch

I don’t consider that a botch

I never learned to like whiskey

I think of it as way too risky

They say the proof is in the pudding

Who do they think their kidding

Give me a glass of red wine

And I will be just fine

Oil – which one to choose healthwise?

simple Ula

Oil is something we add most often to our food. It’s also something you can probably find in every kitchen you go to. So how important it is to have the one that is healthy for your body? It’s major.

So let me tell you briefly about the ones that are healthy for our bodies and skip the ones that are not.

People are Crap – NOT

Cory Galbraith

notes

It had been a while since I had a face-to-face with a good friend of mine.

But as soon as he opened his mouth, he told me how people are full of “you know what.”

I was taken back by his diatribe which went as follows…

  • People lie all the time, about every thing.
  • Emails and voice-mails are not returned.
  • People are insincere.
  • People are two-faced.
  • People are mean.
  • People lack caring and empathy.
  • People are obsessed with their smartphones at the expense of real life.
  • People are unreliable.
  • People are back-stabbers.
  • People are rude and insensitive.
  • People are self-absorbed.
  • People are nuts.

After this long litany of complaint, I came to the defense of modern humanity and offered these explanations.

  • People are stressed.
  • People are afraid.
  • People are distracted.
  • People are confused.
  • People are getting older.
  • People mean well, but are overwhelmed.
  • People are time-starved.
  • People make mistakes.

Many Moons Ago

It is still quite warm here in Georgia, and I am so wishing for some cool weather. I was outside having coffee with Sally Sue and nary a breeze drifted our way. It’s hot and muggy and we are very much in need of rain.

Soon, we will be taking in some classic car shows and festivals, and I like to plan ahead about what to wear.  Just last week I sifted through my closet in order to take inventory of my fall wardrobe. Sally Sue didn’t seem to understand my concerns, but then she’s a car so what does she know? She would rather think about her next ride and how she can show off. Such a diva for a car. To be continued…

I’m so pretty

but not too witty

I put on a show

hear people go Oh

Yes, I’m a car

You needn’t go far

to realize I’m a star

There is a lot going on in beBeeland. I just love all of the hoopla. The CEOs are in the U.S spreading the word about beBee; attending meetings and having some well-deserved fun. They work hard and play hard and I love being a part of it.

More and more our personalities shine through, and the new hives (groups) we create is a true reflection of the thoughts and views of our members. These are exciting times for those of us that enjoy beBee.

Also, there is an array of excellent publications from the likes of superb authors, inclusive of some our best WordPress bloggers.

The End of Summer

Yes, I know I know

Featuring

You are going to love my featured blogger for this week’s Tuesday Chatter. Alexis Chateau, Activist. Writer. Explorer.  Alexis Chateau has it together projecting a positive attitude and a yen for adventure. You will not be disappointed.

How this all Started…

In 2014, I turned down a lot of opportunities to travel and experience the world, because I am a woman and women almost always prefer stability and safety to risk. After saying no to what might have been an amazing experience in Australia, I promised myself that for 2015, my resolution was to take risks – calculated risks, but risks all the same.

So, how about some fun facts! Did you know that September 2016 is Honey Month? Let’s appreciate our honey bees as they have long provided humans with honey and beeswax.bee-honey-illustration-isolated-white-background-46623780

” Honey Month is a celebratory and promotional event held annually during the month of September. Its purpose is to promote US beekeeping, the beekeeping industry and honey as a natural and beneficial…”

 I’m a honey of a bee

That’s easy to see

I bet you wish you were me

And today, September 12th is Video Games Day.

“We all know the Playstation, the PC, the Xbox, the Gameboy, and all the other myriad examples of gaming devices out there in the world today. Gaming is a pervasive part of our culture, coloring everything from our choices in clothing to our taste in cuisine, there are even themed restaurants that are entirely dedicated to gamers and the games they love. Video Games Day is dedicated to recalling this defining part of our culture and sharing it with our fellow gamers, new and old alike. Get your game on!”

Hi, everyone! For those of you that live in the U.S. and Canada, here’s wishing you a happy and safe Labor Day.  Let’s reflect on Labor Day and recognize our workforce for all that they do.

Significance of Labor Day 2016

“Labor Day 2016, also known as Labour Day, is a federal holiday observed annually on the first Monday of September. Originally it was a day organized to celebrate various labor associations’ strengths and their contributions to the United States economy and presently it is a day that gives workers a day of rest and celebrates their contribution to the American economy. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day 2016 Weekend and it is considered the unofficial end of summer.”

Many Moons Ago

Remember the days of deliveries back in the 1960s? They were much different than what we experience today. Milk used to be delivered to our door. We would leave our empty glass bottles on the porch with a note letting the milkman know what we needed. Some milkmen wore all white and rode bicycles or drove cute little trucks. The fresh milk would be on our doorstep at 4 am. Can you imagine this happening today?

stock-vector-hand-drawn-vector-illustration-of-an-happy-milkman-174291566

There was also the bread man with a combination fresh bread and tempting sweets. Wow, with the delivery of milk and bread, it was like breakfast on wheels. Was there an egg man – does anyone know?

And, not to forget the paper boys that delivered the newspaper. Back then, they were mostly young lads in school making some extra change. We still have newspaper deliveries today, but on a different scale and sadly being replaced by technology.images

Of course today, we have pizza delivered, a brilliant idea!  Oh, and hats off to Amazon for delivering anything and everything under the sun.

By the way, Sally Sue is taking a break this week so I won’t be reporting on any escapades from our cruising gadabout. To be continued…

My fav social media friend, beBee, is keeping me busy as a bee. Now that I am a beBee Brand Ambassador, I’m busier than ever, but it’s a good kind of busy – know what I mean?
