#TuesdayChatter – March 28, 2017

Life Happens at the Carrs

Hi everyone. It’s time for Tuesday Chatter, hosted by Eugenia over at Brew N Spew.

Not a whole lot went on this past week. I was sick with a cold the last part of last week but have been feeling fine the past couple days. I think that perhaps allergies/sinuses made things a little worse. I don’t bounce back as quick as I use to and I hadn’t been sleeping well for a couple days so, even though I was feeling fine enough to go out and run errands on Sunday, it took a lot out of me to do so. Felt completely fine yesterday….. So now the hubby is dealing with the same thing I had. He’s had it a couple days now so he should be feeling better soon, though sometimes things like this can linger a little longer for him….

I should interrupt to say that…

The Sun and me –

Awesome photography.

See Norway - Se Norge

There’s  nothing that affects our planet Earth like the sun! Directly nor secondary! And since the sun more or less always seems present in the sky, photos from sunsets (or sunups) has become a ‘regular occurance’ on this blog.  And I readily confess: I…

The coffee is hot, bold and strong. Let’s sit a spell and discuss what’s right and what’s wrong. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those thought-provoking chats.

1973 was an interesting year for politics, sports, and music. Watergate hearings begin in the U.S., President Nixon tells the nation “I am not a crook”, Vice President Spiro Agnew resigns due to dealing with charges of tax evasion, Gerald Ford replaced Spiro Agnew, and later became president after President Nixon resigned. The Bahamas gains independence from Great Britain.

Billie Jean King wins over Bobby Riggs “The Battle of the Sexes” exhibition tennis match, Secretariat wins the first Triple Crown in 25 tears. Super Bowl-Miami Dolphins beat Wash Red Skins, 14-7 in LA, UCLA’s basketball team wins 61st consecutive game (NCAA record), 15th Daytona 500: Richard Petty wins.Triple Crown horse Secretariat bought for a record $5.7m

Skylab, the United States’ first space station, is launched, the Sears Tower opens in Chicago,

US dollar devalues 10%, the average cost of a new house $32,500, average income per year $12,900, average month rent $175, a gallon of gas 40 cents, a dozen eggs 45 cents. Inflation is causing problems in people’s lives in the US and the UK with much of this is due to OPEC Oil price increases.

“Aloha from Hawaii” featuring Elvis Presley was watched by one billion people worldwide, UK band, Pink Floyd released their 8th album, Dark Side of the Moon, UK artist, Elton John has #1 album in the US and UK. Some of the top singles in the US and the UK – The Rolling Stones – Angie, Tony Orlando and Dawn – Tie a Yellow Ribbon ’round the Old Oak Tree, Elton John – Crocodile Rock, Roberta Flack – Killing me Softly With His Song, Carly Simon – You’re So Vain, Stevie Wonder – Superstition.

The world not yet lulled into a waltz

Confusion blurs who talks the talk

Blank pages penned who walks the walk

 Tedious steps hit the road

Reminds us life not tied with a bow

Despite our cries, prices still rise

To most this comes as no surprise

Oil is gold and gold is oil

Creates rigors of pain and endless toil

Harmonious thoughts still adrift

Mankind’s journey a repetitive tiff

US Supreme Court takes the stage

with its ruling on Roe vs Wade

Puzzled unfolding skeptical untolding

Repeat after me, life’s a gift

Evening Surprise

See Norway - Se Norge

The day had been filled with bright sun and a…

I’ve been collecting a list of WP bloggers with an insane amount of followers who focus primarily on writing. No doubt you’ve come across most, if not all of these writerly scholars who meander about WordPress, affecting us with their Hollywood connections, best seller success, dreamy wordiness or their delicately composed poems that touch on the otherworldly.

Not as expected –

Stunning photos shared by Svein.

See Norway - Se Norge

When I threw a glance out the window it looked rather promising: I clear sun in the sky and a few exiting cloud formations on the horizon.
So I chanced it, grabbed my camera and an extra battery and started out for a position that would give me a best possible shooting angle . . .

Tuesday Chatter 72

While we’re having coffee, let’s take a break from what we can’t control. Sometimes pointless chatter can eventually take on a form of positive energy. The world is ours to keep. Let’s reap what we sow and sow what we reap.

1972, a black year in history due to the Munich Olympics Terrorist attack, Governor George Wallace is shot, Bloody Friday and Bloody Sunday in Ireland. Also, many deaths due inclement weather events –  earthquake destroys most of Bingol, Turkey – more than 1000 dead, 10,000 homeless, earthquake in southern Iraq – more than 5000 dead, Hurricane Agnes creates destruction in the states of Pa, NY, Md and Va – 117 dead, Earthquake in Nicaragua – 5,000-10,000 dead in the capital Managua.

The annual average income in the US is $11,500, and the average cost of a new house is $27,550. The cost of a gallon of gas is 55 cents for your Ford Pinto. which cost $2,078.

Mother Nature has yet to design

Snapshot weather favoring mankind

Her fickle ways dictate our days

Her fickle ways dictates who pays

Camouflaged skies to survive the night

Her chameleon wardrobe can be a fright

And scorching costs appraise our loss

An iffy persona still displays who’s boss

Winds huffing and puffing, the roof undone

Spring has sprung birds songs are sung

The river is dry parched is our land

The sun rises and sets over golden sand

Stressed trees undressed and gossips stare

Beauty strikes gold fall’s in the air

Unrelentless cold the ground is numb

Snow angels frolic shaping winter fun

Mother Nature has yet to design

Tick the box and all will be fine

A puzzling spirit to never resign

Another Day Gone

See Norway - Se Norge

It’s been a time with few motifs and less photography, but – we are approching the time of year with more light, more colors and a time to brush away the dust from my camera and be a bit more vigilant to the opportunities that may arise . . .
