Tuesday Chatter 77

141933-Paramore-Music-Gif

Hmmm, there’s nothing better than a thought-provoking chat over a great cuppa coffee. Let’s talk about this and that and figure out where it’s at or do we really want to know?

While the first Apple computer goes on sale, the New York Yankees are the World Series champions and the Oakland Raiders are the Super Bowl XI champions. Seattle Slew wins the Kentucky Derby. Jimmy Carter President of United States tells Americans that they must consider making changes in their oil consumption. The first oil travels through the Trans-Alaskan Oil Pipeline.

The average Cost of new house $49,300.00, average annual income $15,000.00, the average monthly rent $240.00 and gas per gallon was 65 cents.

I was still enjoying being single and hitting the dance clubs.  I loved jumpsuits and owned several of them. I believe this fashion trend has tried to make a come back a few times but with any fashion trend, fickleness plays a major role.

There were several sex symbols and fashion icons in 1977 – perhaps you remember Dolly Parton, Cheryl Ladd, Mary Tyler Moore, Jane Seymour, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Diane Keaton just to name a few.  I was and I am still a fan of Diane Keaton.  “La-dee-da, la-dee-da.”- Diane Keaton, in Annie Hall. She just oozes star quality, in my opinion. And hey, you’re welcome to chime in with your favorites.

§

Hey, was it seven-eleven in nineteen seventy-seven?

When the US population hit 216 million

Do we connect the dots to reach one zillion?

We’re minus a legend, yep just do the math

Sentenced to absentia while navigating life’s path

“Elvis has left the building”, a star-studded crooner

Played his last encore for woebegone swooners

The world of music lost its soul

when the hip wiggling King left rock and roll

Now we got Star Wars for our filmgoer fans

We flocked to the cinemas in our VW vans

Chia pets and sheeple learn life’s not tied with a bow

The New York City Blackout literally steals the show

Welcome the hip hop genre and punk rock bands

Their hot new music is filling the stands

Barbie’s got a motorhome, a dune buggy, and a bike

My BMW’s in a cardboard garage that has no lights

You gotta tip the waitress while you’re at the disco

Or she’ll say toodle-oo and become a no show

A wonderful model for living

In 1994 I founded The Optimal Functioning Institute™ – the company that presented the world’s first comprehensive ADD-specific coaching curriculum, and the only one for many years (OFI’s certification compliant A.C.T.), a curriculum I developed and delivered personally for years.

OFI was founded according to the principles that Dr. Harry Clarke Noyes articulates in The Goose Story, an extremely short free-verse poem (below) about the importance of community.

For well over a decade it was featured prominently on my first website, ADDCoach.com, built to focus on promoting the existence of ADD Coaching and the importance of brain-based, ADD-specific, Coach Training — and one of the first ADD sites on the web.

I first shared it here on ADDandSoMuchMORE.com in 2011

Igår virket det som om noe kunne skje? Skylaget var annerledes, høyt og til dels dramatisk, men – hvordan så det ut under horisonten?  Det var det umulig å si noe om før solen faktisk hadde forsvunnet ned under . . .

Yesterday it looked like something could be about to happen? The cloud layers were different – high flying and partly dramatic. But what did it look like below the horizon?
There was no telling before the sun was actually in that position – down under . . .
Mitt første bilde i denne serien er et ‘filtrert skudd’- nærmest som et eksperiment. Og selv om resultatet var dramatisk nok, så ble det kanskje litt for mørkt der oppe . . .?

Myu first shot in this sequence is a ‘filtered shot’ – more like a small experiment. And even if the result was kind of dramatic, perhaps a…

#TuesdayChatter – April 18, 2017

Life Happens at the Carrs

Are you kidding me??

As you can see, when I went to make myself a cup of coffee in which to drink while doing up our Tuesday Chatter. All’s good now, however, and I have myself a cup of coffee – though I’ve pretty well drunk most of it already -LOL.

So what can I tell you about this week? Well, passover is reaching the end. I know, for some, the thought of doing without leavened items is unbearable. It’s amazing how easy it is to do without for a week, amazing how many things there are to eat that don’t involve leavening. Of course that doesn’t mean that we don’t enjoy things like cookies and such when all is said and done but for the week, they aren’t terribly missed. And matzah, I actually enjoy matzah with just plain salted butter on it…and matzah pizza – mmmmmmm. Come to…

Hmmm, there’s nothing better than a thought-provoking chat over a great cuppa coffee. Let’s talk about this and that and figure out where it’s at or do we really want to know?

The average cost of new house $43,400.00, average income per year $16,000.00, average month rent $220.00, a gallon of gas 59 cents. No surprise as inflation is on the rise.

Fidel Castro becomes The President of Cuba, NASA debuts the first space shuttle, the Enterprise, Apple Computer Company is formed by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, The Olympics, broadcast from Montreal, Canada, draw an estimated one billion viewers worldwide. World population 4.378 billion, US celebrates Bicentennial (July 4), Super Bowl- Pittsburgh d. Dallas, World Series-Cincinnati d. NY Yankees.

Ah, the year nineteen-seventy-six

Let’s fly on the Concorde and pick up sticks

Mom nature gifts US with Hurricane Belle

Shambled moments for farmer in the dell

Again making history we gallop through space

A quick sand mindset to keep the pace

Nice to meet you mister Enterprise

Bring the man in the moon an order of fries

Oh, don’t forget Mars and the Viking 1 Lander

Windows of opportunity as man takes a gander

Disease and droughts, tidal waves and quakes

History in the making needs to go on break

It’s time for the US Presidential election

A peanut farmer from Georgia is the selection

We got a brand new Apple and it’s not from Eve

The creative Steves had smarts up their sleeves

We got a new genre of music, ain’t life grand

Let’s lend an ear to Punk Rock bands

Persistent inflation never goes but comes at will

The US saves the day with the two dollar bill

Let’s bribe the Bay City Rollers to guide us uphill

Another hullabaloo year gifting life with a thrill

-Eugenia

1976 was a stepping stone year for me. On my thirtieth birthday, I got a divorce, my father passed away (he was 85 and led a good life), and I became a single soul. I have no siblings so it was me, myself and I, and survival. I got out of the “poor me” feelings in about a week and started moving on.

I had friends, a job and a place to live. I discovered a new life and a slew of great places to dance and party. The disco era was “in” and I loved it.  I was still living in Orlando but felt it was time to discover new and different things, thus my move to South Florida. Orlando was still getting used to the impact of Disney, and a lot of us folks that were born and/or raised there still had that small town attitude. Well, that all changed when I moved to South Florida. I learned a lot and saw an abundance of opportunities, which the next 10 years were productive years for me, personally and professionally. I have no regrets making one of the biggest decisions of my life. 1976 was a good year for me.

The coffee’s brewing! Let’s have a cuppa, relax and discuss this and that. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those chats.

1975, that magical year that Space Mountain opened at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I lived in Orlando at that time and what an impact Disney had on a once sleepy little city. Disney was new, exciting and fun. There were an abundance of new jobs and in fact, that is when I got into modeling and even got a few roles of being an extra in commercials. I loved all that Disney had to offer and tried to go there as much as I could.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been there in several years and would love to go back there someday. I can just imagine the many changes that have taken place since I have been there.

No signs of salvation for growing inflation

Unwelcoming swarms of this and that

Chinwags at stake albeit conspiracy and Watergate

Patty Hearst most wanted but not wanting

Where’s Jimmy Hoffa tops the most haunting

Defined success Bill Gates and Microsoft

He and Paul Allen have smarts in their loft

Wars, famine, and oil brings our blood to a boil

Our souls they toil yet don’t own the soil

Ideas in destination but blanketed by foil

But mounds of zounds! We got our sounds!

Musical marvels never lets us down

Elton and, Lucy in the sky, are the talk of the town

Diamonds fall like rain onto the palsy-walsy ground

I want to live on Disney’s Space Mountain

Coins of gold and my youth harbored in a fountain

Yep, all that goes on will keep us strong

What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong

Life’s lemons in our tea will keep us alive

And hopefully, survive nineteen seventy-five

Don’t Quit Your Blog! Just Tweak it.

Great advice from Jacqueline.

a cooking pot and twisted tales

Is Your Blog in A Rut? Don’t Your Quit Blog.

Blog, Successful Blog, Don't Quit Blog, Blogging, Methodical Approach, Social media, Statistics

No one told you that it would be a slow climb of grits, cramped fingers and the snail pace attention from your expected dream audience.

No one told you that finding fame or making money from blogging is not easy pickings and that there are many days the thrill would fizzle out faster than the time it took the ink of your words to dry.

No one told you when you started blogging, all awash with excitement and so much to say, that time might come when you find yourself writing terse sentences such as:

Sorry I haven’t posted for AGES, guys.

Don’t know what to say….blah, blah.

If you are contemplating tossing in your paddle and jumping out of the choppy waters of your blogging boat; I would say, halt!

As a matter of fact, according to online research
