I’ve eager reasons to know why
It’s these insipid feelings
They send me reeling
Feelings of pity and rancor
Depression, oppression, lack of decision
A foolish mind can create its own prison
I’m not too keen on this game of pain
I’ve tried to hold back but only in vain
It’s time I roll this around in my mouth
Unravel their core and send them south
I’ve put on my best face to face
Feelings of woe forfeited in space
I’ve learned I must rise up above it
And my peace of mind I know I’ll covet

I do like the thoughts you have had on this topic….we all have doubts that is for sure, dealing with them and not allowing them to dominate our lives is always a challenge. Have a good weekend Eugenia.

I like the progression …. how you call those ‘insipid emotions’, and then move on to the intensity that you need to fight.I guess we allocate the degree of intensity to all emotions. One can decide to what extent should we allow them to overpower our lives.

Thank you, Reena. This was an interesting challenge. I was trying to stay on track with the intent of your challenge and not get too carried away in another direction.

I really like this and it is a good description of the mind set we can get stuck in! Wise words

I like the tangle and unraveling in this poem Eugenia. It captures how our mind can sometimes take control of us, but offers some hope in that we can take back control.
