1941-the Andrew Sisters recorded “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, a song that became a classic World War II hit.

1960- we learned of the announcement by John F. Kennedy, a 42-year-old senator, he was going to run for U.S. President on the Democratic ticket.

1974- speed limit laws were set to 55 mph by U.S. President, Richard Nixon. The new speed limit applied to all national highways.

As we yearn for the high fives

Wishing for those nine lives

Our egos on a fast ride

Basking in the high life

   The world’s grandiose facade

Yes, perhaps a bit flawed

Let’s noodle the thought

A new earth can’t be bought

We gotta watch what’s goin down

Lend our best ear to the ground

The earth doesn’t need a bow to be a gift

C’mon, do you get my drift

This splendid planet is ours to keep

Memo yourself, you reap what you sow

    Eugenia,

Happy New Year! “Wishing for those nine lives” reminds me just how fleeting time is, the days of our youth are spent, and at mid-life one wonders about his/her mortality. But, instead of looking to the past, I say live in the now and enjoy the blessings that are given. Life is short so make the most of it in this brand new year! I added a pingback in Tuesday post and will do so in the future. Have a wonderful day and God bless! 😉
