The pen is your guide
Let no hands be tied
The poets who spill their ink
May scrawl with a wink
Whether what’s written is true
Is up to you, yourself and you
Open ideas may offer selection
But where is their direction
Ah, the slack jaw of confusion
Perhaps, your ideal perfection

Namaste Eugenia π
Yes indeed, the enigma that is the Poet: if we could explain them, they wouldn’t exist π
Have a wonderful weekend. Namaste π

Yes, Dewin, you read the lines and in between the lines. To explain them would ruin the chance for the reader to interpret them. π

All bliss, if the perspective meets. If not, trolls are born.

Yes, perception is the key. IMO, poetry reflects feelings, whether true or fictional, which makes it vulnerable to the reader’s interpretation. Trolls prey on what they consider the weak, however, it’s the trolls that are the weak ones. Their opinion is hollow judgment.

Excellent thoughts put into your poem here Eugenia. May our ink wells never dry up from the words we poets wish to convey..
Love and well wishes,

A nice piece of poetry Eugenia opening up the question of the role of the poet in poetry. I think the term, the slack jaw of confusion, hits the nail on the head π

As another poet once told me, whatever you imagine a verse to mean, it could alos mean something else!

Yes, that’s what makes poetry so intriguing. It’s all in the interpretation of the author and the reader.
