Profound flashbacks of yesterday
A pompous parade has lost its way
Sheeple in a game of charades
Original ideas often mislaid
Costume masks obscure selfie faces
Perception blurs snapshot places
Festive moments of who’s portrayed
Whilst enjoying their marmalade
A copy/paste as someone else
No face to face with oneself
Those that opt to masquerade
Their alter egos a societal display

Eugenia,
Interesting use of an application function “copy/paste” entwined in your poem to illustrate the masquerade of another. I used last week’s word prompt in today’s post. I hope you’ll decide to drop by. Thanks for hosting! 😉

Wonderful memories of bygone times. Ebony and Ivory gosh, so remember when that was released. And yes lots of Sheeple in the herd mentality still bleating away. Yet nothing changes in the flock..
Great to be visiting you again Eugenia. and wonderful poetry as always.. The masks have to come off sometimes, I feel slowly corruption is being exposed fleece by fleece..
Lots of Love your way my friend, I so thank you for your visits.Much love as I return to blog land 🙂
