Habitude U-Turns

Perhaps, it’s not best to assume

One’s thoughts consumed

Ideas give way

Feelings astray

Perhaps, it’s not best to surmise

Ruins the surprise

Defines the cause

and the effect

Reversal of one’s pondering

an offering

for posturing

and vice versa

Ingrained behavior

Opted many times before

Gamble the reverse

This is one of your best poems, Franci! Each line resonates. Loved it!

Thank you so much, Reena. I found it challenging to meet the prompt and address it using poetic forms.

Flipping over something is not easy for sure. Poetic forms can be restrictive, but at times they take us to unplanned realms of thought . I enjoy that.

Thank you so much for participating!

I enjoyed your take on a very difficult prompt Eugenia. Loved the last line. It fitted in well with the mind bending.

Love this suggestion and love this idea, sometimes life is not lived until turned upside down! — Stephen
