“Let discernment be your trustee, and mistakes your teacher.”
― T.F. Hodge, From Within I Rise: Spiritual Triumph Over Death and Conscious Encounters with “The Divine Presence”

Word of the weekdiscerning (adjective)-showing good or outstanding judgment or understanding. Synonyms-perceptive, keen, sharp,

Discerning decisions

beckon common sense

yet not

an easy task.

Those who are undiscerning

only weigh in

during the encore.

Emotions play games,

enter the bullies

and the boogeymen

their vile ways unleashed,

tipping our cups

of contentment.

And existence can be blurry

even with

no clocks we hurry

into the horizon, whoosh

Life’s too short not to

display good judgment,

a notable quality,

and best to learn

early on

no matter the reason.

Mistakes will come

and go –

we mustn’t wallow

in despair but learn.

Keep an ear

to the ground

and have a ready

insight into and

understanding of things.
