The Two-faced Metropolis

the day time gig

a city alive

with hustle bustle

windows of opportunity

but, here comes the night

the city alive

with hustle clamor

facing adversity

no matter the trek

the city alive

with hustle noise

a societal dilemma

Reena’s Exploration Challenge – week 66

Poem – prompt

after the sun departs and we are greeted by constellations
or what we could see past the rising light of the city
The elitists of the day go home
A time of opportunities has gone down with the day
But what would the night bring us?
The start of a new journey and to be one with the city
Never in the eyes of a 9-5 type

‘A societal dilemma’ – just about sums it up. Brilliant take on the prompt!

So true–same place but who would know–different as night and day… Well done, Eugenia!

Living in rural Maine, we rarely have this experience… But, our three day/night stay in San Francisco immediately popped into mind when I read your poem. Day/night–two completely different worlds. ❤ Have a great weekend, Eugenia. xo

I believe larger cities are more prone to the day/night differences. Thank you for commenting.
