BrewNSpew Cafe – January 7, 2019

 embrace the new year

let kindred souls share laughter

tokens of the times

Word/expression of the week – galumph – (verb) – to move with a clumsy heavy tread. Synonyms – barge, clump, flounder, lumber, plod, shamble, shuffle, tromp, trudge.

The new year arrived

with ease

and simplicity.

The skyline sparkles

with pride while

kindred souls embark

on new pursuits. Their

high hopes woosh

with greatness. Their

plans mapped out

with consideration

and preciseness.  To

galumph would

be unfortunate.

The new year is

and willing

to be written, and

so it goes.

And for your information, here is what’s happening at the BrewNSpew Café!

On late Mondays or early Tuesdays, I distribute a post titled BrewNSpew Café and one of the highlights is“word/expression of the week”. I make my very own creative attempt with my interpretation of the word.

You’re welcome to join our talented community and challenge yourselves by composing your own creation using the week by week included word. Please limit your post to 300 words or fewer.

Link your blog to mine with a Pingback. To do a Pingback: Copy the URL (the HTTPS:// address of my post) for the current week’s Challenge and paste it into your post. You may also place a copy of the URL of your post in the comments of the current week’s Challenge post.

The prompt will close 5 days from the date of my post. I will post a week after week Wrap-up of posts shared by our kindred bloggers.

How about we be innovative and have fun!

You’re welcome! It took me awhile to grasp the idea of a ping back. Once I found a good explanation, it’s easy to understand. 🙂 You’re welcome to join the challenge.

I like the tone of this poem in my head and though we galumph through the year, may we continue forward always 🙂

I used to galumph but I grew out of it. Thanks for a fun prompt and a trip down memory lane for me.

    And this is my response.
I used a more cheerful interpretation of the word as given here:
    Hope that’s fine!

My presence in Blogosphere for the past two or weeks has been scattered. I’ve visited you a number of times but I don’t know where my brain is because I forgot to leave my footprints in comments. slap forehead I think I just had too much on my mind. Things aren’t a whole lot better but I’m getting there.

Your weekly word prompt is an interesting one and I hope in the coming weeks to be back on track. Who knows maybe I’ll be inspired to put my fingers to keyboard to type out a little ditty to share. Happy, happy, new year! May God’s blessings be with you throughout 2019!

Hey, Cathy! We have lives other than blogland. 🙂 I felt pressured during the holidays because I had to man the Go Dog Go Cafe Monday gig. Never again will I volunteer during the holiday season. So I understand and come on by for a cuppa when you can. ☕️ 🙂
