BrewNSpew Cafe – March 11, 2019

108521-1404874910_Good-Morning

is it time to say

winter’s gone and spring has sprung

methinks come what may

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”  – Oscar Wilde

Word of the week –

doldrums – (noun) – a state or period of inactivity, stagnation, or depression. Synonyms – inactive, quiet, slow, slack, sluggish, subdued, inert, flat, dull.

winter’s doldrums of mixed emotions

stacking a plethora of mawkish notions

stirring the pot for much-needed renewal

condone charisma and accept the unusual

overlook the clime and its unpredictability

another face-off of nature’s tomfoolery

it’s witless to wallow in a poor situation

let’s accept acclaims for unique reflections

the scribbles and scrawls perhaps a la carte

but our woven words come from the heart

oh, so carefully tweaked like works of art

you and I and our pen and ink

Hugh’s Views and News

A man with dyslexia writing about this and that and everything else!

So my fellow bloggers, here is what’s happening at the BrewNSpew Café!

On Mondays, I publish a post titled BrewNSpew Café. One of the highlights is “word/expression of the week”. I make my own wacky lyric with my interpretation.

You’re welcome to join our talented community and challenge yourselves by composing your own creation using the week by week included word. Please limit your post to 300 words or fewer.

Link your blog to mine with a Pingback. To do a Pingback: Copy the URL (the HTTPS:// address of my post) for the current week’s Challenge and paste it into your post. You may also place a copy of the URL of your post in the comments of the current week’s Challenge post.

The prompt will close 5 days from the date of my post. I will post a week after week wrap-up of posts shared by our kindred bloggers.

How about we be innovative and have fun!

Beautiful poetry from you Eugenia. “stirring the pot for much-needed renewal”, this speaks volumes to me. Thank you.

Good morning. Not sure if the pingback works but putting another take on ‘doldrums’ to add to the rest, unironically with the title of ‘Haste’.
