summers sweet nectar

happy thoughts in tranquil minds

summoning friendship

The farmers grind and whet their scythes,
While hay-stacks in the meadows rise:
Green fields and shady groves appear,
And rip’ning harvest crowns the year
.

–The 1793 [Old] Farmer’s Almanac

Word of the week – watermelon – (noun) – a large oblong or roundish fruit with a hard green or white rind often striped or variegated, a sweet watery pink, yellowish, or red pulp, and usually many seeds. Synonyms – melon, cantaloupe, watermelon.

July is National Watermelon Month!

Goodness!

Oh, so savory

basking in glory

ruby-red sweetness

a pleasure to witness

summer sweet passion

in hangover fashion.

Hey, family, friends and

all odds and ends

enjoy those hot humid days

 the sun’s glowing rays

with watermelon delights

hmm, love at first bite

Yes, I know what you’re thinking, a silly poem indeed! But silliness is good for the soul. 😊

Silliness is very good for the soul. I should know because I’m silly most of the time.

    I also love watermelon.

Have a fabulous day, Eugenia. ♥
