BrewNSpew Cafe – August 12, 2019

thundering moments

nature shares stormy assaults

echoes fall quiet

“There are many who don’t wish to sleep for fear of nightmares. Sadly, there are many who don’t wish to wake for the same fear.”
Richelle Goodrich, Dandelions: The Disappearance of Annabelle Fancher

Presenting the week’s challenge – You may use the words and/or the image for this week’s prompt.

daymare – (noun) –  A terrifying experience, having the characteristics of a nightmare, during wakefulness.

nightmare – (noun) – An oppressed state during sleep, accompanied by a feeling of intense fear, horror, or anxiety, or of inability to escape from some threatened danger or from pursuing phantoms or monsters. Also, called incubus.

ghosts tango in moonlight

scrawled footprints on vaulted ceilings

bad dreams

daytime drama

shadows menace sunlight

upon walls like spidery webs

You’re at BrewNSpew Cafe, where friends meet

Cap Nap Revue

This site is dedicated to J. Kirk Richards of Sanford, Florida and to Sharon Asselin of San Francisco. The former saved my life a couple of times and the latter gave me poetry.

Influences are Emily Dickinson, James Wright, Basho, Daisaku Ikeda, and Li Po. My favorite ice cream is Chunky Monkey and I like staying in the van while others revel on long walks at the beach.

Please support your fellow bloggers

Here’s what is going on at the cafe. On Mondays, I publish a post titled BrewNSpew Cafe. A weekly feature is I share a word and/or image for your interpretation. I have included my own creation addressing the prompt.

Please join our talented community and challenge yourselves by contributing your own creation using the week by week featured word, image or both. There are no restrictions, except please and thank you for limiting a written post to 300 words or fewer.

I hate nightmares and daymares too. I’m so fortunate that I rarely remember my dreams.

Have a fabulous day and week, Eugenia. ♥

Sandee, I have vivid dreams that seem to last forever and when I wake up, I can’t remember the dream. Perhaps, it’s better that way!? 😬

It is being held hostage again, just like my phone has been. I have working aimlessly with help desk, as I was lock out my own account. I have screen shots and been in communication with the help desk. This is sad, my work and now my account. I don’t have the energy right now. Thanks for letting me now.
