Meet our new catkid, Callie, adopted on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2020.

Callie is a tortoiseshell cat, which these cats are known to be frisky and fun! Yep, no doubt about that!!

Tortoiseshell cats are affectionately known as “torties” and come with “tortitude” (sassy and somewhat aggressive). What distinguishes tortoiseshell cats is their patterned coat – not their breed. Tortoiseshell cats are not a breed and most torties are female with the males being extremely rare.

Tortoiseshell cats are known to be good luck worldwide, according to legend, and in the U.S. they are believed to be “money cats” and bring good fortune to their home.

Our two-year-old Callie is a high-energy cat and keeps us on our toes! She is a delightful animal and helps fill the void due to the loss of our nineteen-year-old, Amanda.

Even though, we’ve had to cat proof our home, we have no regrets. Welcome to your new home, Callie! 😸

  3. Hannah was my dear Torty’s name. She came into my life at 2 years of age and quietly and gracefully left it at 16 yrs. She wasn’t ill a day in her 18 years of life. I hope Callie blesses your life as much a Hannah did mine. There’s something about those gold eyes 😊❀

    • Thank you, Sue! Wow, 21 years is a long time and it’s hard when we lose them because they were a part of our life. Even our routines get out of kilter when they’re gone. Callie is a delight and there is never a dull moment with her around. 😸
