Link your blog to mine with a pingback. To do a pingback: Copy the URL (the HTTPS:// address of my post) and paste it into your post. You may also place a copy of the URL of your post in the comments of the current week’s prompt.

PoojaG, at LIFESFINEWHINE, one of our extraordinary bloggers, shared a link to a post by another amazing blogger, Jim Borden. The content of his post is about an awesome site, Wayback Machine, where you can see what your site looked like when you first started blogging. I’m totally amazed at how my site has progressed over time. Plus, I feel Wayback Machine could be helpful to retrieve content either trashed or accidentally deleted!

Here is Jim Borden’s post  “The Fascinating Wayback Machine AKA The Internet Archive” and here is the link to the Wayback Machine. Try it out and see for yourself how your blog has changed since it’s beginning! It’s fun and most interesting!

Below is a screenshot of my blog when I first started! Wow, has my blog changed!

  3. What I found on the Wayback Machine was that during the time I stopped paying for the domain – – someone snuck in there and took it over for a bit and then I got it back. That was weird to see. I don’t know how long I had let it go, but it definitely wasn’t my blog in the middle. Guess I better keep that domain paid for in case they decide to come back for it. It wasn’t down for long before I paid for it again so I guess they decided to give up.

    1. How interesting! I am glad you found this useful. I had a feeling the Wayback Machine might have more than one purpose. I found several of my older posts that I had deleted, which I can alter and reuse.

      1. The first page I clicked was definitely mine and so was the last one, but I clicked in the middle to see what may have been different and this page came up with the domain name, but it definitely wasn’t mine. I followed a few of the pages. They were obviously trying to sell things and I guess it didn’t work so they let the domain go again and I decided to pick it up again not realizing someone had used it in between. Quite an eye-opener.
