I like the beginning being sort of “harsh” then ending so peacefully

You’re very observant and thank you. I was trying to convey smoldering hot and then the calm. 😉

Well, I am certainly glad that I read it so closely

Your poem works so well conveying both the discomfort of heat and the calm of water.

Thank you, Rhen. After listening to the local weather report, the forecasters predict we’re due for some sweltry weather this coming week. 😓

Not sure where you are, Eugenia, but I just heard the Seattle area where I am is going to get a bit warmer than suits me. No A/C, but I did buy a super new fan–so I should be okay 🙂

I live north of Atlanta. We have A/C and use fans as well. Up until now, our weather has been pleasant.

Oh my, A/C and fans!! Is it quite humid? I hope you’re taking good care–keeping you and your family in my prayers ❤

It gets humid in the summer and muggy from the afternoon thunder boomers. We’re safe and well, thus far, and thank you for thinking of us. You take care, as well. ❤️

You’re quite welcome, and thank you! “Thunder boomers”, I’d not heard that phrase before–sounds like a poem in the making 🙂
