Spreading my Wings

Sharing gorgeous photos of a butterfly by See Norway –

See Norway - Se Norge

The stonecrops in our garden are in full bloom and – suddenly the garden is full of ‘tortoiseshell’ butterflies’ – which is nice? But then one can wonder: What is it about stonecrops (Sedum) that makes it so popular with the tortoiseshell butterflies?
I think the keyword in this regard is ‘camouflage’?If you study these stonecrops in their blossoming, you may notice that it has exactly the same colors you find in the tortoiseshell butterfly’s wings ?!
