In light of the upcoming holiday season and my ongoing computer woes, I am taking a break from posting Eugi’s Weekly Prompt until after the first of the year.
I’ve been struggling to keep up with responses, Feature posts, and Roundups because my larger and main laptop is having issues. (I have a five year old laptop with a 17.3 screen and a smaller and newer laptop with a 15.6 screen). Believe me, the larger screen is much easier on the eyes.
Plus, I want to do some blog housekeeping and gather new ideas for weekly prompts. Also, freeing up my time will give me a chance to read; participate in more challenges; and write more poetry.
With that said, Eugi’s Weekly Prompt “Everlasting” Nov. 2, 2020 is the last weekly prompt posted until after the first of the year.
Eugi’s Causerie I and Eugi’s Causerie II will still be actively involved in blogging.

I know it’s hard to make these decisions, Eugi. Good for you for prioritizing.

Thank you for understanding. It is a lot of work, which I didn’t mind until my computer started acting up. This too shall pass! 😊

This is a busy time of year. You have to do what is best for you. I think we all get worn out after a bit and need a break. That’s why I don’t blog on the weekends. Need the break. Not having a computer that fits what you do doesn’t help either.
Have a fabulous day, Eugenia. ♥

Thank you, Sandee! I will still be blogging and joining your Awww Mondays. My smaller computer was meant for travel and not everyday use. My weekly prompt and all that goes with it is time-consuming and without the larger screen is too hard on my eyes. As you said, it was time for a break. ❤️

I may be selfish to write that I would miss writing for your prompts.🤗
You will be missed in this space.

That’s a little bit of a bummer, BUT your reasoning for the break is sound.
I’m hoping life will be more sane for me as well and I can start actively participating there instead of just reading after the beginning of the year.

I enjoy putting on the prompt and I like reading and participating in the responses but as it grew, I didn’t have time to participate in other challenges, etc. Then, my computer started to have issues!
I was thinking of doing an unmanned prompt but that seems so impersonal. I’ve got time to figure it out. Take care and thanks for responding. 😉

Your challenges will be missed. I know what you mean about computer woes, my hard drive failed and had to get a new computer last week; too bad they are not EVERLASTING.

Thank you for understanding. Yes, computers should be everlasting for the price paid for them. I had a Toshiba laptop that lasted 10 years. My HP laptop is only 5 years old and has issues. I downloaded a completely new version of Windows, which took several hours but it helped somewhat. I’m grateful for my backup laptop but the screen is a lot smaller.
My prompts will eventually return but I need to gather up some enticing images and I will schedule the posts ahead of time in order to allow me to participate in other challenges. 😉

I just bought a all in one HP and am trying to figure out the bells and whistles! Wish me luck. At my tender age of 80 maybe I should admit I am too old to learn new tricks. Lol

Thank you, Susi! My main computer is running a little smoother but I am on the lookout for a new one. It still runs slow and acts up. What’s nice, I found I have more time to read as well as improve my writing, and I am able to submit more poetry to PoetrySoup and Spillwords. I’ve also started following more poetry based blogs so it may be a while before I host a prompt event if I decide to do so. I hope you are feeling better! ❤️

You’re welcome, Eugenia. Yes, thank you, I am doing better. The major stressor was the election and a major lack of good sleep. Good for you on stepping back to do the things which give you joy. 🙂

You know what bothers me most about the election is not who you want for president and if they win or lose, it is the corruption. The corruption is shameful! And, I won’t go any further as I detest discussing politics.

I agree! That’s one of the reasons I volunteered my time with a national group during this election to educate people about platform issues which would help eliminate the corruption in their states.

Fair enough to take a break! I don’t know how you’ve kept up with all the responses. Thank you for all the wonderful prompts you’ve provided. ❤

Thank you, Kate! I set up Word documents to keep up with it, which took a bit of my time, but I enjoyed it. When my main laptop started to fizzle, I felt it was a good time to take a breather from posting the weekly prompts. ❤️

Hello Eugenia
I had missed this post of yours. This morning I suddenly remembered that I was yet to receive a” prompt” from you this week and then came across this. I can’t tell you how much I keep looking forward to these prompts of yours and I certainly hope that you will come back with more of them next year.
You have worked really hard to give us joy with your prompts and your follow up comments and responses, so you certainly deserve the break. 🙂
Have a wonderful, worry-free holiday.
