  1. Yes! This piece acknowledges the challenges but offers empowerment. Lovely!

Catherine Pulsifer echoes my own thoughts! That is the reason our family traditions do not include that holiday. My thought is that “family” should mean more than just being thankful on one day!

  2. Eugenia,

I’m a bit in denial. How can it be the holiday season already? Whew this year has crept by slowly some days and zinged away others. Oh well, it is what is so let’s get festive and celebrate! Thanks for the word prompt if a verse falls in my lap then I’ll let ya know. Have a good week, my dear!

    1. Hi, Cathy! I know the feeling of some days that zing on by and others drag. I agree why not get festive and enjoy the holidays.

By the way, I am taking a hiatus from posting a weekly prompt. This poem was written in response to prompts from other bloggers. 😘

  3. I appreciate this take on the Thanksgiving Holiday. I have been thinking about our Thanksgiving traditions in a more critical manner and decided that what I post will be based on the meaning of gratitude itself rather than a retelling of Mayflower stories. When I read your poem this morning, I see that you have taken that approach. The poem is lovely! Happy Thanksgiving, Eugenia! ❤
