I especially loved the word play and connection to the image in that last line, Eugenia! 🙂 Here’s my take on the prompt – https://iwriteher.com/2021/02/11/passages/
Thank you! ❤️
You’re welcome, Eugenia! <3

What is the romance we desire when we wait
When the fantasy plays in your heart and
the dance stops before it begins
What reasons do we have to believe
Romance is real?
Eugenia, I’m not sure I can give a fuddy duddy, swoon worthy romance of words, but lets see what happens (hahaha)! Will post the link with an offering soon 🙂
I love your comment and totally agree, Donna-Luisa! Seems at times, romance can be elusive. ❤️

Eugenia, here it is;
Romance gone wrong 🙂

*The verse I wrote here is the last verse in this poem…
I love the way I feel when I write poetry. The play with words and my feelings and emotions are fun! Hope that you can like my non romantic offering 🙂
btw – have another, will post tomorrow, as I complete.

When every day is good for a happy loving heart who can celebrate just one day? 🙂
Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right one… here’s to looking forward
I agree, Jules! We should celebrate love everyday and not just one day a year. Same with the end of the year holidays and the push for sharing kindness. Kindness should be shared all year. ❤️
Pay it forward with lovingkindness is something all should strive for. I just read a good news article where a man goes to food stands (yes in this current winter) and buys out their inventory and then donates the food to shelters or elsewhere. The Vendor stays in business and people get fed. Win Win.

Eugenia, here is ‘After Romance’

Hahaha, I am becoming cynical – never thought it would happen. Will try very hard to remember when my jaded present was absent! Maybe, just maybe I can 🙂

Eugenia,
What a beautiful romantically vintage feel this image sends! A perfect match for your ‘Romance’ theme. I’m going to stew on this word today, maybe inspiration will strike! I hope you and your hubby have a very romantic Valentine’s Day. 😉
Thank you, Cathy, and Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours! 💝😘
I am contributing my version of romance with this poem. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

Mountains and Valleys
Love comes when the mountains ring
and valleys rise to roar.
They rang, I fear.
Oh, can’t you hear?
I love you more and more.

Pingback: Blue Flame – Farrago Express
This is not a new work, but it’s what I thought of first when contemplating your topic “Romance”. As a matter of fact, I wrote this story for creative writing class when I was in college – either 1975 or 1976. At the time, it got me a good grade and a compliment on the dialogue.
