  1. Jewels in the rough
    Very tough,
    Delicate to hold,
    Very bold.
    Playing in your school yard
    Always full of joy
    Your neighbourhood makes it
    Very hard to be employed.

    Children, jewels growing up
    Smiling and giving
    Impresssionably able to mold
    Smiling as your life unfolds.
    Exams are always hardest
    Feigning satisfaction during hunger
Hoping for a feast before the pain
Smiling because life has much to gain.

Hmm, never sure where it goes Eugenia, but it took me to elementry school, fun real memories. Will complete and post…let me bask in my reflection, gazing into the past 🤔 🌺
    Great prompt!

    • ❤️❣️Your poem takes me back to my childhood too. We were jewels in the rough waiting to be polished for life’s gifts.
