She hoped to be better with time
She longed to sharpen her mind
It saddened me to see her blue
Never receiving credit when due
Always hiding her lies in vain
Her pitiful soul in unrelenting pain
Her faded eyes revealing all
She struggled so, to stand proud and tall
Chaos in her mind often trapped
A maze of confusion and not tightly wrapped
What about her fall? Was it a clumsy trip?
Or a blurred mind losing its grip?
So you ask, where is she now?
I remember her fall all too well
Should I live a lie or should I tell?

Eugenia,
The harsh reality of getting old, right? It’s scary to think about, isn’t it? Nicely done, though. π

Thank you, Cathy! I think of ageing as getting older and not getting old! π·

Eugenia,
I think interests keep us young at heart. That’s something we need to engage in daily so we don’t get old inside, you know? BTW, I’m following your lead with pinning featured posts at the top of my blog with my BoTB. This round I’m not getting the nibbles as usual. I suspect folks are probably busy with A2Z prep and life in general. We’ll see how this goes. Now, to remember to unpin. π

I agree, Cathy, things that we enjoy keep us young at heart and in mind. Could be folks are busy like you say, and life is so confusing these days, it’s difficult to focus. I like the idea of featured posts pinned to the top of a blog as brings more attention to it. My theme automatically pins featured posts which is one of the reasons I chose it.
