“None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have faith.” Paulo Coelho
The days move into nights,
laborious yet watchful.
Coppered late-day sun
lazily slips, bidding farewell.
Relentless darkness,
wretched in intent,
looms beyond the night.
Cosmic rhythms reach eternal,
as spiritual souls emerge
from moonlit shadows.
Those with
instinctive and unyielding faith
seek the truth.
Their journey triumphs
through this thing called life.

The more I see folks struggling with memory loss… I just wonder what life they have.
We had lunch today with an elder who we saw two weeks ago …but didn’t remember our outing at all. And yet we strive to get through and on to the next day. *sigh*
Lovely verse. But I’m a tad frustrated for those who live in their memories and five minute loops of the present time. Hoping that they have some kind of fulfilment.
A very sad situation for those who have memory loss and it seems no cure or help on how to combat it. Perhaps, their fulfillment is the memories from their past.
Having just memory loss would be enough. But some of these folks have other health issues and no one close to care… must rely on the places where they’ve been ‘put’. Unless they had premade plans… but sometimes even those plans don’t go as planned.
This is a thought-provoking post, Eugi. I love the photo. I agree with the quote and like your words. Sometimes what lies ahead is unknown and causes fear. But we need to put that fear aside. Trust and faith 🙏
Thank you, Lisa, and I agree we must have trust and faith and not let fear control our lives.
Loved your poem… and your chosen quote… I have several of Paulo Coelho books too…. 🙂 Insightful reads too… 🙂 Enjoy your weekend Eugenia <3
Thank you so much, Sue! You have a wonderful weekend, as well! 😉

We keep going, not because of faith, but because there are, no other, options, because, life is a, one-way street that only moves, forward…
Thank you for your comment. 😉

Gorgeous imagery Eugi. Faith got me out of the darkest period of my life. Despite our different beliefs, I’m a strong believer in accepting that faith is a choice and people can make different choices which can be discussed but always respected.
Great take on the prompt.
Thank you, Jude!
